High inrush currents can occur when switching on isolating and separating transformers. These place a strain on components, can trip fuses and impair the availability of equipment. Additional challenges arise from mains disturbances such as half-wave outages in accordance with DIN EN 61000-4-11, which can cause saturation currents that are significantly higher than the inrush current.
The TSR MedLine has been developed for use in medical electrical equipment. It enables wear-free switching of isolating transformers up to 32 A without inrush current surges and responds reliably to critical mains parameters such as half-wave interruptions. UL approval in accordance with IEC 60601-1:2005/AMD1:2012/AMD2:2020 supports its use in medical devices that comply with the standard.
The TSR MedLine supports the reliable operation of medical applications even during mains disturbances. It has been developed for use with isolating transformers in IEC 60601-1-compliant devices and helps to reduce mains-related stresses, thereby contributing to operational safety in everyday clinical practice.
